Start by asking your doctor for a written summary of your diagnosis and next steps. Then reach out to us — our patient intake form connects you with peer support, resources, and financial assistance eligibility within two business days. You don't need to have it figured out before you contact us.

Never restrain someone having a seizure. Clear the area of hard objects, turn them gently on their side, and time the seizure. Call emergency services if it lasts more than five minutes. Download our Seizure Action Plan below for a printable guide to keep at home.

The Grey Area's Financial Assistance Program is available to registered members. We assess applications individually and disburse funds directly to verified healthcare providers. Government and partner organisation assistance may also be available. Contact us to discuss your situation confidentially.

There is no single right way. Many families find it helpful to share basic information first, then invite questions over time. Our Patient Guide includes a section on communication strategies for different family dynamics, including children. Peer support connections are also available through our intake programme.

Glioblastoma (GBM)The most aggressive form of primary brain tumour. Fast-growing and difficult to treat, but manageable with the right team and support.
gliomaA broad category of tumours arising from glial cells in the brain or spine. Glioblastoma is the most severe type of glioma.
SeizureA sudden, uncontrolled electrical disturbance in the brain. Seizures can vary widely — from brief lapses in attention to full convulsions.
NeurologistA doctor who specialises in conditions of the nervous system, including the brain, spinal cord, and nerves.
palliative careSpecialised medical care focused on providing relief from pain & other symptoms of a serious illness. Not the same as end-of-life care.
TemozolomideAn oral chemotherapy drug commonly prescribed for glioblastoma treatment. Often used alongside radiation therapy.
